Rhys Tay SL

Rhys Tay S L was a Senior Manager and had experiences in various work disciplines where he was responsible for building; plant facilities management and engineering work (mechanical, electrical, instrument and control system) construction project management, equipment maintenance and servicing as well as plant production management for the last thirty-two years.

Specifically, his work experience involved the production/logistic management of production plants, plant construction project with cost ranges from S$3o to S$200 million project work, commissioning of new plants and others related functional roles (Production, Engineering and Facilities) in his previous company.

He is a registered WSH officer (MOM) for the company’s safety, health and environmental management system within his department. He also had experiences in the development of the ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, SS506: Part 3:2006 and OHSAS 18001:2007 procedural management system for his company and leading the certification audit for his department. Beside that he is a ACTA certified trainer, an ITE certified industry trainer as well as a part time HSE trainer.

He held a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Engineering and Management (Deakin University), professional degree in Electrical Engineering (former Society of Engineers - UK), Master in Engineering Management (Wollongong University), Mechanical Engineering (Washington International University) with specialization in Reliability Center Maintenance.

BEng (NTU), MSc (NTU), MBA (RMIT), MIES, MSIM

Mr Wang had been involved in the Construction Industry for the last 17 years, including working in Evan Lim & Co Pte Ltd, a local A1 building contractor. He has been active in the tendering, project management and supervision of many local and international projects.

Mr Wang graduated with two construction degrees from the Nanyang Technologycal University and continued with a MBA in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.

He has been active in professional bodies and association. He served as Assistant General Secretary of the Singapore Contractors Association Limited and chaired as in the Continual Professional Development Committee and Contracts and Practices Committee.

While serving as Chair in the Continual Professional Development Committee of the Singapore Contractors Association Limited (SCAL), he initiated the formation of SCAL Academy, and through tie up with TEG, he pushes for supervisors and managers to upgrade their technical and managerial skills, by attending Jointly Awarded Certificates, Professional Certificates, Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas recognized by Heriot Watt University, Sheffield Hallam University and Deakin University.
